Well this is interesting Maria Munir says they is trans lead for @AmnestyUK_LGBTI and worked on the joint statement with Liberty.
Does Maria work for Amnesty.... no they doesn't, they works for ...

.....Stonewall

stonewall.org.uk/people/maria-m…
Maria is 'famous' for coming out as non-binary to President Obama saying “In the UK we don’t recognise NB people under the equality act, so we literally have no rights." 🙄

What is Stonewall's Associate Director of Community Engagement doing writing Amnesty's statement?

Did any legal or medical analysis go into it?

Was it signed off against child rights & safeguarding principles by Amnesty? @eilidhdouglas @lovell0711 @KateAllenAI

What expertise do @AmnestyUK and @libertyhq in medicine?
What evidence do they have that GIDS didn't

This is what the court said

"The myth of toxic media coverage"

IPSO report on media coverage of transgender issues in the UK is interesting.

They looked at 12,000 articles in the 10 year period up to May 2019

The report is 132 pages. The word 'toxic' does not appear once.

ipso.co.uk/media/1986/med…
What it notes is that over time there has been a shift from disrespectful stories about 'gender benders' to human interest to policy focused stories.
Driven in particular by stories about key policy issues - prisons, self ID and the transitioning of children

The much-trailed full judgment in the case of Taylor v Jaguar Landrover is out

It seems to be a straightforward case of gender reassignment discrimination/harassment, where, as we already know protection in the Eq A begins early in the transition process
oldsquare.co.uk/wp-content/upl…
The word 'non-binary' appears 6 times, the word 'transition' or 'transitioning' appears 56 times.

Taylor is referred to as "she" throughout and now identifies as a transwoman.

It is not clear that this is a "landmark case" recognising non-binary as a thing in law at all.
The word TERF actually appears more times in the judgment than the word non-binary.

Here management Google the word TERF and declare it "not appropriate in any workplace"

Naomi Wolf keeps saying that gender critical feminists in the UK are funded by the US right.

When I asked her about evidence she says there is "tons" of it on the site Media Matters (for America) hmm....
I don't know what she is talking about - there is nothing at all on there about UK grassroots groups like @fairplaywomen

Here is someone actually "debating our existence" ...

@naomirwolf thinks the people who disagree with her online when she wades into the UK debate on self ID are bots.

@rachelmsavage have you checked out that claim ?
Here are 2000 of the "bots" at a conference at this year. They were convincingly human
Dr Wolf say "shine a light on their funding"

(At this point a robust interviewer might ask what you might find there, rather than just printing the smear)

So I asked this one.... (it felt like the right one at the time)

@Samsmethers said "It is a v. important issue & I can understand where the anxiety comes from. I see many cases of women @suzanne_moore was a case in point..."
"Women who have found themselves on the wrong side of this issue and as a result lose their jobs or feel that they are being silenced.

My response is that it is inequitable from their point of view but freedom of speech is not an unqualified right."
"It is a balancing act between those two interests and we do not want to silence women, we do not want to shut women out of this discussion.

It is also important that we exercise free speech responsibly."
