Our Drop Dead paper has finally been released into the world! In it, we suggest that 'dead' should not be used as an anchor in health state valuation. We'd really value some feedback on it.
ohe.org/news/should-we…
#DropDead #healtheconomics
We outline 5 propositions relating to 'dead' being an unnecessary and problematic feature of health state valuation. The solution - we think - could be to simply use an alternative state to 'dead'.
This has been a long time coming for us. @DrPanik published a blog post on the topic in 2011 aheblog.com/2011/07/13/wha…
and I gave a seminar on it in 2014 doi.org/10.13140/RG.2.…
Since then, plenty of people have disagreed with us. But we don't have a good understanding of the different views that people have. So we'd really value any comments or criticisms that you might be willing to share on ResearchGate: researchgate.net/publication/34…
Alternatively, we could just let this decide it... Should we 'drop dead'?
