Watching Trump supporters scream about all of the money they lost on betting sites today when the electoral college voted might by my new favorite thing about 2020.

These idiots went on #betfair and got rickrolled by professional gamblers who took their money with a smile...
Wait … they GENUINELY believe that the LARP electors today actually were something genuine, they don't know that the only way a state can be "contested" is if two CERTIFIED slates of electors are sent by the governor (Hawaii 1960), and that Powell lied about cases in SCOTUS.
some of these idiots bet 10s of thousands of dollars. And if that's not stupid enough, they did so from foreign countries AFTER Nov 3 (some as late as today!) and didn't bother to learn how US elections work. They THINK that what they learned from Q is real.
They THINK Trump is all of a sudden going to rise from the ashes with this brilliant legal strategy and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. They THINK Powell's Kracken cases are being deliberated at SCOTUS. They THINK a military tribunal is going to occur. They NEED therapy.
So let's set some things straight.

None of Powell's cases are at SCOTUS in any form: docketed or otherwise. SCOTUS isn't PACER. Anyone can verify this.

supremecourt.gov/docket/docket.…
No, none of the cosplay you saw today amounts to anything since the only slate of electors that matter is the one certified by the state.

Yes, In Hawaii 1960 there was a contested state. They sent TWO certificates of ascertainment with two separate slates of electors.
No writing "we really really really want Trump to win!" and submitting it as a slate does not make you an elector. It makes you a felon for impersonating one.

No there is no decision for Pence to make on Jan 6th because he will only have 50 slates, 1 from each state.
Yes a couple of Republicans in the house and senate could slow down the process on Jan 6th by protesting, but that's only for 2 hours. They'll be overridden (since it must be a majority in BOTH houses) , and that'll be that.
No the military (who voted against Trump) will not stage a tribunal, execute Americans while you watch you on your televisions. The military supports and defends the Constitution, not the President. The transfer of power has begun on military installations weeks ago already.
Yes you were victims of fraud. By Trump. By Powell. And by everyone else who lied to you about there ever being any doubt in this election.

They stole your money in return for you becoming the public laughing stock that you are. Sue them.
But in regards to the betting websites, there is no avenue of recourse. You played adult games with money you apparently didn't have, and lost. Welcome to the real world. Hopefully you learn from this and grow from it.
I thought I'd add some factual information IRT to the "LARP electors" thing. See the argument is that if Pence has two sets of electors, he gets to choose. But there's a problem with that, and it's Art II Sect 1 of the Constitution and how "electors" are made. Let's take a peek
Uh oh...the "legislature thereof" so you're saying 2 retiring GOP legislators and 5 convicted felons signing their names to a post-it note claiming they're "electors" doesn't make it so? Well holy shit.
Well that's a problem, because per the 12th amendment, the only electors that can be considered are those sent by the state via their certificate of ascertainment when they certified their slates. And "contested" doesn't mean 5 butthurt people in a Capital Lawn and Garden.
It means, per the laws when a state sends more than slate of ELECTORS, per Art II Sect I. Such as what occurred in 1876, and again in 1960. The states sent multiple slates of electors.

That didn't happen here. The states sent 1 slate.
"STEM, so what happens to those other electors that were "sent"? " Well most likely since impersonating an elector is a crime, they get referred back to the state Attorney General for prosecution. They're not votes, they're evidence.
If you prefer a graphical representation of the value of the LARP electors in the 2020 election - I can't think of a better one than this

@DavidFSkinner @bubbaprog Brief history of the challenge coin (for those who don't know)

They didn't start as coins, but rather medallions.

In WW1, a wealthy aristocrat was placed in charge of a squadron of pilots. He commemorated by having a medallion with the squadron seal made for them.
@DavidFSkinner @bubbaprog One of those pilots was shot down over France, and he was captured trying to return back to his unit. He was suspected of being a German spy, and was going to be executed.
@DavidFSkinner @bubbaprog His equipment was being inspected for items of military importance, and the medallion was discovered. Someone had heard of the aristocrat having these medals made, and recognized the squadron logo. Instead of being shot as a traitor, they offered him wine.

This may be unpopular, but it's based on sound strategy:

Senate Dems / House Dems should NOT focus on removing Trump, because the GOP will block them, and it distracts from the real fight.

No, not the election. The GOP could care LESS about that.

It's the 2 mos AFTERWARDS.
There is NOTHING legally preventing both Thomas AND Alito from resigning on November 4th, and if North Carolina is any indicator when the GOP lost, that kind of shenanigans is EXACTLY what we'll see.
And we saw yesterday not just who will replace RBG if we lose, but also who will replace Alito and Thomas if we win.

Cotton, Cruz, Hawley. It's not a coincidence they floated 3 names.

Nothing more privileged than white people going into a Black neighborhood, burning down their one grocery store, bank, or market, and then going back to their comfortable suburban home and tweeting how "it's just a property."

The fuck it is "just a property".
To you, it might be a "property".
But to that community, it's fresh food.
It's jobs for the neighborhood.
it's a deterrent to gangs and drugs.
It's a chance at college.

The fact you consider their hard-earned, hard-built community as "just property" is appalling.
It was harder for that community to get permits.
It was harder to get loans, they needed more capital than white communities. It's harder to get supplies. It's harder in every aspect because of people who think that one property in Brooklyn Heights is the same as one in Harlem.

@MGreczyn @SkinnerPm @MENA_Conflict Speaking as a combat veteran who was actively recruited to the police force but opted against it - I'm going to give my take on this:

Veterans get fasttracked from the military to law enforcement, but their training is military. Different threats, different responsibilities. /1
@MGreczyn @SkinnerPm @MENA_Conflict We're trained to presume every protestor , every rioter - is a potential suicide bomber trying to kill us. That's our experience in urban operations: street to street gunfights against human bombs.

It's ingrained into us, that we have to act decisively to survive /2
@MGreczyn @SkinnerPm @MENA_Conflict And no matter HOW MUCH you claim that you can leave that behind, you can't. I've been retired 5 years and I STILL have a moment where a piece of trash becomes an IED. I still change lanes under a bridge to avoid children dropping hand grenades into my vehicle that aren't there /3

So I decided there's enough information to put this into a thread. This pertains to those obscure codes on the disbursing form Tara Reade posted herself in 2019. They didn't get much attention, but I think I'm going to change that.

1/
So, as we see: we have several different "action types" on this form in dates from 12/02/1992 - 8/06/1993.

I'm going to go through them all.

First we need the OPM master sheet.
I'm using the FSA site, but their OPM codes are the same as the Senate.
fsa.usda.gov/Internet/FSA_F…
Here's the OPM website, but it's not as user friendly.

Codes are the same though.

opm.gov/policy-data-ov…

So a quick search for the first term "Exc Appt" shows the following code: NOAC 170.

So let's unpack a little of what would take for @JoeBiden to get Tara's complaint removed. First, some basics.
It was 1993.
He was Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Ken Starr was the United States solicitor general at the time.

He was chosen to review Sen Packwood's diaries by the Senate.
So at this time, the Senate was already actively looking for any complaints of assault or harassment.

Then in 1994, the Ethics in Government Act passed, which gave the independent council near carte blanche when it came to reviewing documents, security cameras, and visitor logs.
