A month ago with a lot of fanfare @Helen_Whately, @MattHancock and @BorisJohnson announced with delight that we would all get to hug our loved ones again - the media were pushed out to watch a couple of lucky homes in the pilot scheme as they started testing relatives
and what have we learnt in that month - that Councils and Care Groups do not trust the tests. That screens are going up in care homes, that very few will even be allowed to visits let alone hug their loved ones this Christmas. Insurance is still a problem
That promises are made and then hopefully forgotten - but unlike many of our loved ones, young and old, who may not remember us any more we have not forgotten and will not forget. More #pointlesspilots are being done by councils - and so many still wait
and then there is the vaccine, when will it be rolled out to care homes for carers and the residents - again they are the priority but not in every area - a shambles and a disgrace - our care system is falling a part in places -there are some amazing care homes
thousands of wonderful carers and good managers who will do all they can to think out side the box and make things happen, manage the risks for the love of their residents and then the big groups #cashbeforecare and shareholders not residents to look after
