"Federal officials issued an urgent warning Thursday that the hackers who had penetrated deep into government systems also used other malware — and different attack techniques — that posed “a grave risk to the federal government.”

Had a bad feeling when news broke last week of Treasury that this would be one of the worst cyberattacks on America. It seems this is shaping out to be the case
“This is looking like it’s the worst hacking case in the history of America,” the official said. “They got into everything.”

What is stumbling me is why the russians wanted it known. They operated all year so carefully in the shadows but last week w FireEye left fingerprints. Either they tripped up or wanted this attack to be known
