B and I met each other for the first time In June of this year
I’ll never forget we were sitting at the bar talking, trying to get to know each other’s backgrounds.
I remember telling him about my research and trying to dumb it down for lack of better words.

Then he said something along the lines of “oh this is just like wholesaling except you do it with chemicals.”
That was the first sign to me that was like “yo this dude is intelligent” because most people clock out at the complexity but he tried to link it to something he knew.

Then we got on the subject of CO2 capture and I was like “wait a minute. A real estate dude talking about one of the hottest fields in chemistry right now?? Lemme go ahead and just put the whole vision out there.”

So I really just hit him with the full scientific jargon and he’s following along
“So what is your vision for all of this? What do want to do after this?”
“Honestly I wanna publish a couple papers and then get into industry. stay there a couple years then start my own company.”

So I tell him more about it. And tell him what I want to do with.
Starting a company was always about building a community. And I had all of these ideas that I had jotted down over the years.
I told B about all of them.
He stops me....

“Now I know that this is not the reason that we met up tonight, but you know I’m an investor, so if I can invest in this idea and bring it to life, let me know what to do.”
I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty overwhelmed 😂😂 cuz a 5-7 year timeline sped up to a 1-3 year timeline.

But it was my dream. A dream that I had formed a long time ago that I knew I would bring to life eventually. @DOEDoobs can tell you we used to talk about this way back when.
At first I wanted the company to be in my hometown because a lot of factory jobs have left.

But because of the opportunity I had been gifted to continue doing research I told B I wanted to do it in Memphis.
Because Memphis gave me another chance to truly live out my purpose and I wanna give that opportunity back to the people here who’ve been forgotten.

And I guess you can say that the rest is history
We’ve gathered so many things together for this project over the last 6 months and yesterday was the first time it felt real

I don’t know how many of you have ever met B in person but for those of you who haven’t, he is very stoic.
He doesn’t like talking much at all 😂😂 and honestly I don’t blame him
But yesterday was the first time that he expressed how excited he was and I actually felt it.

Some of that was a result of us knowing each other better and us both coming out of our shells
But I know that some of that was him legit being happy that we have something concrete to work toward now
I know I was hype😂😂 we got into the building cuz I was being nosey.

I start poking my head around amazed by the sheer size of the place.
I got lost in my head for about 5-10 minutes before I go back out to the car and say “you gotta come see this”
He gets out and we start walking through.
I said to him “this is it man. This is it.”
