The foster care system is dramatically overstretched and under-funded, leading to the deaths of children every single year. wcpo.com/news/insider/c…

CASAs advocate for children in the foster care and juvenile justice systems, acting on their behalf and their behalf only.

You can volunteer to become a CASA or GAL (guardian ad litem), and you can also donate to support their efforts.

It’s extremely telling what this officer appears to believe Operation Gothic Serpent was intended to do (technically it was an effort to capture a faction leader to end the Somali Civil War but it went pretty much straight to hell)

I remain somewhat perplexed at some conservatives arguing against mail in voting, which helped Republican candidates win multiple races this cycle, but at the same time, I am not entirely perplexed.

The Republican Party, is not, in fact, an entity in service to one person, but it is financially optimal to apparently pretend otherwise.

“These Republican candidates won in tough races that leaned on early voting, but Trump lost, so we gotta get rid of early voting”

There is a scene on The West Wing where CJ lip syncs to a song called “The Jackal” and everyone ... loves it? It’s a whole thing?

Like, people discuss it as if it is an exciting and memorable thing to which one looks forward?

For reasons best left unexplored I have watched virtually the entire first season of this show in the last five days and much of it is like Acceptable Television During Which You Can Do Other Things Because Whatever but man, I don’t know about ... that whole thing.
