The human mind has 3 parts – the id, the ego and the superego

‘the id’ is part has basic, instinctual drives

super-ego’ is the critical,moralizing part

‘ego’ plays balances act of fulfilling ‘id’s’ desires in a realistic way without crossing boundaries laid by the ‘super-ego’

These 3 parts are all part of you.

The ID is suppressed and doesn’t come out - it’s there from birth

The super ego develops as you grow and begin to learn cultural norms and values
