I've spent all weekend reading "Reverse Psychology" by @tempestbreak_ and every piece of this work of art is them going, "AIGHT AIGHT...You wanna tell me Keith was in love with Shiro and heartbroken over Curtis? That Lance was destroyed after Allura? Challenge accepted, bitch."
"Oh what? Keith fucked the clone? Bring it. Lance with depression? I'll take that too. Post canon klance can happen in any universe, under any circumstances and here's 100,000 word 11 chapters why. AND IT'S FUNNY!"
Then they droppes the mic and backflipped out a window.
This fic has the exact opposite canon interpretation I had and yet every time I finished a chapter I was like, "LOOK AT THIS BALLER! LOOK AT THIS FIC! I HAVE NO DAMN BUSINESS HYPING THIS SHIT! DAMN!"
Also Lance is quite perfectly written. It may be the best Lance I've ever read.
If you wanna read it, here's the link but it's a HARD E, MY PALS. And there's A LOT of Keith pining over Shiro/mentions of him and the clone doing the dew. But once again, post canon klance reigns supreme. Congrats @tempestbreak_ !! Amazing work. 👏👏👏 archiveofourown.org/works/26929867…
P.S. There is a part in this fic where Lance systematically breaks down why it was so insane for Keith to think Shiro and him had a chance and it is so fucking hilarious I had to turn my phone over and take a breath. It's a brilliant moment of meta.

Holiday post-canon klance thread where Keith is stuck on Earth and forced to celebrate Christmas with Lance even though he’s grumpy about it. 🎄☃️
Keith wakes to the sound of people talking about him, which is the first hint that he should probably stay asleep. The smell of antiseptic and the scratchiness of the sheets is what clues him into being a Garrison hospital room.
Groggily, he opens his eyes and his vision blurs around a figure that looks like Shiro, that guy Shiro's dating that Keith always forgets the name of, and another person his brain can’t connect to a name. He knows him though, Keith is sure of it.
Hey hey...if you're like me AND celebrate on Christmas Eve BUT can't see anyone bc this awful pandemic was mishandled by the same evil monsters who now get the vaccine before anyone else AND STILL ignore the 320K of us who DIED AND lost someone you loved...it's okay to be angry.
I've just been angry for so much of 2020 that when my niece was born last month, I've forgotten what it felt like to do be anything OTHER than angry. I saw her in the video and was like getting hit in the back of the head by a 2x4.
Anyway, I have nothing really positive to say since this year has been a shitbag thrown in a trainwreck that landed in a dumpster fire. I won't even say it's going to get better in 2021 cause fuck that. It's been fun to write fic, watch BNHA and enjoy everyone's company, though.
Thread where I re-read my favorite volume of the Voltron comics - also the last one written by Tim Hedrick 😭 - where the team hangs out with space furries, Hunk adopts an alien son and Lance saves Keith from getting his head chopped off. 💕
When the universe is at stake and you're all really stressed out, what else is there to do other than fucking around with the training equipment like it's a corn maze?
So many of you weren't around when JDS, LM, Jeremy Shada and Bex were the 4 horsemen of the Votlron apocalypse. Nothing good ever happened when these people were interviewed. Ever.
Bex gave us the iconic "Voltron is a show about war..." speech and ironically had a redemption arc the week before S8 dropped when she confirmed Acxa and Keith were warrior buddies.
The Most Bex Moment Ever was after S7 dropped and everyone rightfully was rioting over Voltron killing their gays and Bex tweeting out, "Ummmmm can we stop this drama and APPRECIATE MY EVIL SPACE LESBIANS ZETHRID/EZOR!😍😍" and every reply under it was, "BITCH, THEY'RE DEAD TOO!"
Illustrative art is highly catered for social media, so a lot of folks in fandom get exposed to How Art Works through people sharing refs and guides. That isn't the same when it comes to writing.
Things like Story Structure and other technical fundaments go right over folks' heads, and when people share good refs it's usually wordy articles or blogs. Not as sexy. This is why I think so many folks argue over characters being flawed or antagonists. They're missing the WHY.
Even a casual understanding of a dynamic between a protagonist and an antagonist - and WHY that's different than a protagonist and a VILLIAN - shifts the conversation away from blanket statements like "NAME is problematic because they did XYZ and nobody should like them ever!"
