A THREAD ON BIDEN'S GUN CONTROL PLAN AND WHY IT SHOULD DISGUST YOU
Imagine if a car company could be sued for a drunk driver causing a fatal accident. It would a nightmare and a lot of companies would be forced to stop making cars entirely. The same applies to gun manufacturers. This wouldn't just hurt civilians, it would also hurt the military. Image
You won't find a "weapon of war" at a gun shop. What you'll find is hollow imitations designed for civilian use. True "weapons of war" haven't been legal to produce for the civilian market since 1986 and the claim that banning "assault-style rifles" decreases crime is dishonest. Image
(1/2) Again, the term "assault weapon" is bullshit to make it seems scarier than it is. It doesn't shoot as a machine gun and doesn't use any tech that isn't also available in a hunting rifle. Saying that not banning assault rifles and larger mags causes school shootings... Image
(2/2) ...is disgustingly dishonest considering A: handgun and shotgun shootings are far more prevalent, and B: almost every "assault rifle" and large magazine will never be used in a crime, as lawful owners are one of the most crime-adverse groups in society.
The NFA is already unconstitutional. Adding "assault rifles" is just another terrible idea. The NFA is inherently a classist law, bringing heavy taxes, lengthy paperwork, and massive price-gouging, which are terrible burdens on the working class. Forced registration is also bad. Image
Again, this wording of "assault rifles" as "weapons of war" is coming either from a place of ignorance or mal intent. Semiautomatic infantry rifles haven't been "weapons of war" since WW2 and most WW2 guns would be considered hunting rifles today. And gov't buybacks are a scam. Image
Stockpiling weapons is completely valid. Fear the end of the world? Valid. Afraid of being raped by a stalker or lynched by klansmen or neo-nazis? Valid. Want to assemble a cool collection? Valid. You just like guns? Valid. 1 gun per month would be terrible to YouTubers like me. Image
Additionally, stuff like school shootings aren't just "someone buys like 3-5 guns in an afternoon and shows up to school with them the next day". They're planned in advance, often with guns that they've had possession of for some time, a lot of the time via family or theft.
The background check system is actually a pretty effective system and does its job near perfectly, and its "loopholes" exist for a reason. Image
Private sales should not be restricted. It is a felony to give a gun to someone who couldn't pass a background check. Making people have to pay upwards of $35 for a background check through an FFL just to give a gift is ridiculous. And the term "gun show loophole" is misleading. Image
No, you can't buy guns online and skip background checks. You have to find someone who doesn't run a proper store and buy their own personal gun.
The "boyfriend loophole" isn't a gun issue, its a legal issue, as many places don't treat abuse from a more casual relationship as "domestic abuse", even though they ought to. Image
Now this is just blatantly ableist. Image
This poses a lot of questions. What constitutes a hate crime? Why not make hate crime a felony? Why are we taking rights away over misdemeanors? Will the accused ever get their rights back if they change their ways? It doesn't help that "hate crimes" are already controversial. Image
The "Charleston loophole" rarely occurs and exists to A: motivate the FBI to conduct background checks in a timely manner, and B: prevent the FBI from delaying a lawful person's access to firearms. Normally a check can be completed in less than 3 minutes, but we give them 3 days. Image
The reason for this is because the legal definition changed. If these people are truly dangerous and shouldn't be armed, there are several other things preventing them from having guns. Image
This is disgusting. Putrid. Repugnant. The sheer disregard for the people who rely on online firearms sales for employment, let alone the sheer convenience it alots end users. This hurts the industry more than anything else, and it's just plain wrong. Especially the parts ban. Image
The ATF is just looking for an excuse to raid you. If you have guns and became a felon, your guns are as good as gone, especially if you're taken into custody and they already have a search warrant. Image
Red flag laws sound good on paper, but in practice never work for who needs them and always gets used on innocent people. This isn't Minority Report where we have psychics who tell us when every crime is about to be committed(and the movie was about even that being wrong). Image
Imagine if you needed a freedom of speech license. That being said, I'm in favor of replacing the NFA with license requirements on formerly NFA restricted guns. But regular pistols and long guns should be hassle-free. Image
This is literally just posturing Image
Coming from Biden, you already know this is gonna be some Snowden surveillance state bullshit. Actually kinda terrifying, even if you're doing "nothing wrong". Image
Taking credit for something he didn't have anything to do with the development of Image
Smart guns suck. They're expensive. They're complicated. They don't work right. They're not impossible for a criminal to circumvent(pretty easy for some models). This just seems like he saw smart gun research in the news and assumed it was ready. Fuck the working class I guess. Image
Ahh yes, teaching the youngsters how to shoot should be a felony and you should be liable for if some kid finds the combination to your safe and takes your shit without you knowing. Image
What constitutes safety? A safe that working class Americans can't afford? Disassembled so you can't have it ready in time to defend yourself? It's your house. Image
I guess "defund the police" was more of a suggestion.

Last I checked, straw purchases are already a heinous crime. There's signs at all the guns stores saying "don't buy for the other guy". It's just more posturing. Image
And what are they gonna do exactly? Failing to buy a gun isn't a crime. Most of the time, these people just don't know they have a record or that it affects their ability to buy. People who know how to get guns via "other means" and know they have a have a record won't bother. Image
It... already is? Image
"Purchasing 3D printing code" LMAO.
We make the files FREE to rebel against people like Biden. And computer code is protected by freedom of speech. The whole thing with 3d printed guns is that no one can stop it. Even gunless dystopia Europe has tons of illegal 3D-printed guns. Image
Gun laws are some of the most seriously enforced in the country. Any further "empowerment" would be just plain tyranny. Fuck the ATF. Image
How are you gonna publish a report if you aren't aware of most of the trafficing? Image
We all know the results will be falsified or misrepresented to fit whatever narrative you want to pull us along through. Image
So do you want to stop school shootings or not? It just seems like you used school shootings as an easy argument and show no actual interest in the safety of our schools... Image
I get the feeling Biden doesn't understand suicidal people. That being said, increased availability to mental health programs are a welcome addition. Image
