2019 ended with a typical Leeds loss in London after a dodgy penalty and conceding from a corner, and a trip to West Brom followed on New Years Day, ending in a 1-1 draw after Bamford’s deflected equaliser after yet another set piece conceded, leaving Leeds top.

Another trip to London, this time in the FA Cup 3rd round away to Premier League side Arsenal. Despite fielding a weaker side Leeds dominated the first half and in the end lost out 1-0 to a Reiss Nelson goal. Meslier and Gotts make their debuts.

Leeds decide it would be cool to keep the title race interesting and proceed to lose 2-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday and then lose again in London to QPR 1-0, where Phillips is sent off and Bamford misses a penalty.

Millwall roll into Elland Road like a team possessed and capitalise on a Leeds team in poor form to go 2-0 up in the first half. However Leeds come out in the second half and completely dominate and complete a memorable 3-2 comeback win.

Once again this league is proving too easy for the mighty whites, so they decide to spice it up again by losing 1-0 at home to Wigan and then 2-0 away to promotion chasing Nottingham Forest. The result leaves Leeds in second, just above Fulham on goal difference.

Another London away day, this time at high flying Brentford. A loss here would put Leeds out of the automatic places and potentially derail the season. However despite an early error from Casilla, Leeds with a returning Phillips get a 1-1 draw after Cooper’s equaliser.

Leeds go away to struggling Hull and put in their best performance of the season to run out 4-0 winners. Ayling Hernandez and Roberts ensure the piss is taken and Leeds remain top. Meslier starts as Kiko is banned for dropping the n-bomb, not the first thing he’s dropped

After a disappointing 1-1 draw with Luton, Leeds win back to back, first 3-1 away to Blackburn then cruise to a 5-0 win over Stoke. The Pablo hype train is in full flow as he puts in another great performance in the Stoke win

A couple of batterings off of Leicester and Palace follow. A 0-0 draw to Arsenal and then a 1-0 win at Everton put Leeds back on track, then they lose to Chelsea and West Ham. Newcastle get slapped 5-2 before something happened on the 20th which I can’t remember.

And that’s where we are today. Bamford’s the most lethal striker in open play in the country and a 20 year old 6 foot 4 french man is the only thing keeping our defence together. But none of this would’ve been possible without the best manager in the world. Thank you Marcelo 💙💛
