SALAFI TEXTUAL DISTORTIONS

[Thread]

There are various ways in which the Salafi Sect manipulates our classical literature:

- Corrupt translations
- Adding footnotes to negate what’s in the actual text
- Changing words in their “edition”
- Completely omitting certain sections Image
This thread will be added to overtime to provide examples with scanned prints to show how manipulative the Salafi movement is in seeking to alter the religion of Islam.

They do this to IMPOSE their 18th century (khariji) ideology onto our classical texts.
SALAFI TEXTUAL DISTORTION: CASE 1

IMAM ABU HANIFA رَحِمَهُ الله ALLEGEDLY AFFIRMS "3 TAWHIDS" ?

[Thread...] Image
The following Salafi textual distortion would be categorised under:

"Imagining something that simply isn't there".

The text in question, "Al-Fiqh Al-Absat", is attributed to Abu Hanifa [d. 767/150 AH], and is used by many Salafis to prove that the Salaf affirmed the 3 Tawhids. ImageImage
Let's start with a translation. Please read it without imposing any pre-conceived meanings onto it... Image
… That's it.

Any mention of "Tawhid ur-Rububuyyah"? Nope.

Any mention of "Tawhid ul-Uluhiyyah"? Nah.

Any mention of "Tawhid" AT ALL?! Absolutely not.
This excerpt is about proving that Allah, the Most High, is called from *above*, not from below. It’s about the status of Allah’s “Aboveness.”

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TAWHID, DEFINING TAWHID, NOR THE SO CALLED "THREE CATEGORIES” OF TAWHID.
If we zoom out, we can see that this is confirmed by the excerpt’s actual TITLE (left out by Salafis): إثبات العلو "The Affirmation of al-`Uluww", which means affirming Allah's Transcendence/Elevation.

Again, it has nothing to do with Tawhid & its innovated categories.

See: ImageImage
Now, there is a BIG difference between “Rububiyyah” & “Tawhid ur-Rububiyyah”. The former is indeed an authentic term that goes back to the Salaf. But "TAWHID ur-Rububiyyah" is NEVER on the lips of the Salaf, nor in the Qur'an/Hadith or even found in the early centuries of Islam.
“Rububiyyah” can refer to a single attribute of lordship which any faith may ascribed to their god(s).

Alternatively, “TAWHID ur-Rububiyyah” is UNIFYING all attributes of Lordship in ONE Deity; for us: Allah.

Thus, the two terms have very different meanings and connotations.
Let me break this down in another way for the Youtube generation: Imagine a brother comes up to you like: "yo! do you know that they were playing PlayStations in the Middle Ages!? they found old manuscripts proving it!"

Naturally, you'd be like: "wow, really? let me see..."
Then the brother proceeds to show you a manuscript from the Middle Ages with the word "STATION" on it. 😑

This is how bad this is. You can't just chop a term in half and then use that isolated word, which means something else to prove a DIFFERENT TERM with a DIFFERENT MEANING.
Honestly, if someone brought these types of arguments to any reputable place of discourse, like a university conference, they would be laughed at and taken as a joke.

Only brainwashed minds that are forcing a pre-conceived meaning would give this perverse reading.
Something important to take from this is that:

Salafis rely on people's lack of Arabic to deceive them into their false creed.
Another thing: this is academic *desperation*.

If you're so sure that you're upon the one, true "haqq", then why twist the words of our early scholars so blatantly and shamelessly?

This reveals a deep weakness and insecurity in their creed.
The sincere reader might be thinking: "Surely you're straw-manning, Salafis don't actually use this to prove the 3 Tawhids?" Yes they do. Just do a google search. Some explain the Trinity Tawhid and just casually add: "And Imam Abu Hanifa did this too" (referring to quote above).
Finally, the reason why Salafis desperately try to impose their "Trinity Tawhid" onto our classical texts is to legitimise the 18th Century Creed of MIAW, who used these distinctions to compare Muslims to Pagans and justify their slaughter. Salafis rely entirely on this doctrine.
There are actually many attempts to impose "Trinity Tawhid" onto our classical texts; heads up: they are all as bad as this.

In any case, I hope you found this useful. May Allah pardon my mistakes and increase us all in wisdom and light.

Onto the next... (TBC)

END OF CASE 1.

On Salafi claim that Trinity Tawhid is proved in the Qur'an.
An example of another Tawhid is “Tawhid Al-'Afāl”: that is, God is the real Creator of all actions and consequences as explained by scholars like explained by Imam Muhammad Nafis al- Banjari (b. 1148 AH/1735 AD).
The Mu’tazila had denied that Allah creates man’s actions and believed instead that man has his own will and power within himself to control the action. Thus they negated this form of Tawhid.

The point is that to say it's ONLY 3 is a reprehensible bida.

This is an absolutely brilliant thread to prove the traditional Sunni position that seeking assistance through unseen beings is no more ‘shirk’ than seeking help through present humans. NEITHER any have power. No human, no angel, no jinn, seen or unseen: Power is ONLY with Allah.
To make a DISTINCTION in the assistance you might receive from a seen being compared to an unseen being is actually closer to SHIRK. Since this entails that you think the one in front of you, who is present, has some kind of intrinsic ability/power over the one that is not.
As Imam M. Ash-Shatti Al-Hanbali [d. 1929] said: “There is no difference between the state of life or death. Those who make a difference are actually much closer to idolatry... because their position is that the living have some sort of influence or intrinsic effect on things.”

NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH RESPECT AND LOVE FOR THE PROPHET ﷺ

Short story of Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari and his wife, Umm Ayyub, may Allah be pleased with them.

[Thread].

1 of 16.
When the Prophet ﷺ emigrated to Madinah, he was without a home. Joyous crowds of elders and children gathered for his arrival, each anticipating to receive him; how wonderful to be the Prophet's ﷺ host/neighbour. Even the trees of the city would become lovingly attached to him.
It was never the etiquette of the Prophet ﷺ to make anyone feel left out. So in choosing the location of his future abode, he allowed his camel, Qaswa, to roam the city - guided by God - and where the camel would decide to sit, would be where he ﷺ would build his home & mosque.
