This was pretty cool. Elements of Hitchcock, along with high concept notes reminiscent of Dark City and Being John Malkovich, though it’s not quite at that level.
Los Angeles looks great in it.

This was a fun scene from Under The Silver Lake (a little gore). Max Martin as a demonic old man.
I liked the silliness and cynicism of suggesting that guy wrote Beethoven’s 9th and Nirvana’s Smell’s Like Teen Spirit. Nirvana was the opposite of the Max Martin approach, and knocked a lot of that sort of music off the air for a while.

Mann was apparently self-conscious enough about this that he added a bit of dialogue in Heat where Al Pacino’s character mentions his house came from his wife’s ex-husband.
