Sources : Chennai City’s Addl CoP Dr N Kannan, IPS, introduces a unique method for collecting bribes. He outsources bribe collection to a private agency. Dr Kannan, a veterinarian was formerly the Foreign Regional Registration Officer (FRRO), 1/4
under Intelligence Bureau in Chennai. This office is situated in Shastri Bhavan, Chennai. He is an incorrigibly corrupt person and when he was FRRO, he was about to be trapped and arrested by CBI, Anti-Corruption Bureau in the same compound. 2/4
One TV Ravichandran, a 1990 batch of IPS officer of TN cadre, who was then in Intelligence Bureau, intervened on Kannan’s behalf, when he was formally informed about the trap. The said TV Ravichandran, still continues to serve in IB. 3/4
This Ravichandran, is Kannan’s godfather.

AMMK Chief TTV Dinakaran condemns the action of TN School Education Department to saffronise Thiruvalluvar. In a series of tweets, he says, Tirukkural is a world literature for entire human kind and it should not be confined to a religion by saffronising Thiruvalluvar. 1/3
