We take the brand new Kia Sonet with the iMT gearbox and the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol to the Kumaon region to check out some of the most scenic, accessible and techinical driving roads that North India has to offer! 
The Sonet made short work of the highways leading up to Ramnagar, even when the going got foggy as it usually does during the winters in North India. The Sonetβs LED headlamps and fog lamps inspired confidence allowing us to keep a more than decent pace.
The sprightly 1.0-litre turbocharged with 120bhp and 172Nm is perfect for Kumaon. The iMT gearbox was everything that we hoped it would be, whether it came to relaxed shifts or aggressive downshifts through the technical roads of the hills, the iMT just performed brilliantly.
The Sonetβs sharp-steering is precise and weighs up nicely, paired with a firm suspension and great damping and you get a car that carves corners like hot knife through butter.
