(2) The initial goal is to put pressure on the Squad to vote for persons other than Nancy Pelosi & Kevin McCarthy for Speaker until she withdraws from the Speaker race due to inability to get a majority of votes cast.
(3) At that point, other Democrats will enter the race & whoever wins will need to do so with the support of the Squad & other Democratic factions. So, the Squad & other D factions will have an opportunity to negotiate deals with Speaker candidates.
(4) Our goal at this point is to get: multiple floor votes, among them M4ALL, GND, & others; rule changes such as nopaygo, & a rule requiring floor votes 4 bills having 10 co-sponsors; better Committee spots 4 the Squad; & a new Speaker friendlier than Pelosi 2 the Squad.
(5) Again, please don't use these hashtags until Tuesday at 4pm ET. It helps the hashtags trend if we all tweet them at the same time.
(6) Some may reply 2 this thread by asking whether blocking Pelosi will provide an opportunity 4 Kevin McCarthy 2 become Speaker. The answer is no, as long as no Ds vote 4 him. If the Squad can block Pelosi, they can also block McCarthy who will get 1 or 2 votes less than she.
