@Shopify empowers merchants and entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. The number of tools to start and scale a business/side hustle is only increasing.
Companies and entrepreneurs want to develop a brand. Selling on Amazon doesn't give you a brand or any competitive advantage. You're competing with others and winning a race to the bottom. Nothing is attractive about that.
The trend of DTC companies proves this point. Companies like $NKE, $LULU, and $GOOS have more attractive margins selling direct to consumers.
As more people look to make $1 online (thanks @jackbutcher) Shopify will benefit from this trend.
Tools like @zapier, @airtable, and others are making it 10x easier to be an entrepreneur.
Shopify already made it 10x easier to be a business owner. Shopify will power the majority of online transactions (not just physical product sales).
As more transactions happen online, Shopify will stand to benefit by being the interface of the backend software for all stores/side hustles/internet businesses/physical businesses.
$SHOP will connect with the majority of online tools that help businesses and creators make money. The future of commerce will be digital + physical goods.
The ways that entrepreneurs can make money online is only growing. Podcasts, newsletters, courses, communities, memberships, subscriptions, physical products, digital products, and much more.
$SHOP has a tremendously long runway to continue to power all businesses.
Building out services or partnering with companies will make so much sense heading into the future.
This is just the beginning for @Shopify, @tobi, @harleyf, and the rest of the Shopify team.
