If at all possible❗️get a pulse oximeter. ❗️If you develop covid-19, you may not feel breathless but your blood oxygen levels can be low. If the reading is below 94% and doesn’t improve with deep breaths, it is an NB sign to get further care. 1/4
However, do not use a normal saturation % to avoid seeking care. If you or someone you care for has covid and they are feeling breathless, looking blue around the lips, or have any symptom that worries you, seek help. NB: Oximeters are less accurate in people with dark skin ☹️2/4

And the reference for the picture is this excellent guidance document: england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/pu… In places where getting to care can take time or with severe ICU bed constraints (eg🇿🇦) I’d recommend keeping 94% as cutoff and not wait for 92%. 4/4
