I have been awed by the work of so many, particularly inspired by the Torres Strait mob who have been so forward thinking over the years in their use of the legal system in pursuit of rights and affirming lore in law.

Would love to hear some yarns that are not covered by MSM about how mob are working on specific legal issues. I love the strategic thinking that happens around cups of tea at the dinner table. That’s how I learnt from my Pop and he was incredibly smart.

We also have some incredible academics doing pivotal research that can be leant on as vital evidence in arguing for policy and legal change. This research has a depth not achieved by those corporates writing reports for govt.

These Indigenous academics engage with those on the frontline so the value is real and tangible and should be THE source of truth when considering issues, not govt report writers with skewed data.
