Meet the Press has booked a shameless conspiracy theorist, Senator Ron Johnson, for Sunday. Johnson says covid is fake and denied Biden won the election. He is MTP's most-booked Republican and has used the platform to spread lies more than any other senator. It is a true feat.
Johnson staged a conspiracy Senate panel of covid vaccine skeptics, anti-maskers, and fake drug promoters just weeks ago. He is avidly pro-covid in addition to spreading Hunter Biden conspiracies and saying Biden stole the election with "voter fraud" nytimes.com/2020/12/07/us/…
Every mainstream news outlet, not just @MeetThePress, books conspiracy theorists because they believe Republicans deserve a platform to spread their misinformation. This is not journalism and @chucktodd does not care one wink about it
Ron Johnson is also an outspoken climate denier. He has spoken about this 40,000 times because it helps him politically. He is a conspiracy theorist.
One time on Meet the Press @chucktodd accused Johnson of spreading "Fox News conspiracy propaganda stuff" as Johnson spread a conspiracy theory about Ukraine
Johnson has been rewarded for spreading this conspiracy with another Meet the Press guest slot
This intentional and habitual liar, who has been repeatedly proven as a liar with the sole purpose of spreading misinformation to the public, will be on Meet the fucking Press on Sunday
There are 8 million examples of this. Ron Johnson is not some mystery. He is a liar who uses the legitimate platforms of the mainstream news media to spread Newsmax/OANN conspiracy theories. Booking these misinformation spreaders is the same as spreading the misinformation

2 weeks ago Wolf Blitzer said Democrats and Republicans were equally to blame for holding up covid relief. He said "millions" need it, $700 is enough, and "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good"
Today Republicans alone are holding up $2000 payments. Any opinion, Wolf?
Journalists exist in an artificial world in which opinions like "health care is good" are forbidden because one party says health care is bad. But if both parties compromise, even if it's a shitty compromise, journalists are allowed to say the compromise was "good." Pretty neat
Just think about how weird this is. It’s OK to say covid relief is good. It’s OK to say $700 is good. But it’s not OK to say $2000 is good. Is it OK to say $701 is good? What about $1000? Is more money good because families need it, or not good because Republicans don’t want it?
Once again @MeetThePress is putting a Republican on its "Journalists Panel" with NO DEMOCRAT for balance
Rich Lowry wrote a disgusting pro-Trump column on Oct. 26. He'll be with two reporters on the panel tomorrow
This is the 5th time since August this has happened. @chucktodd?
This is a disgusting display of right-wing bias on the top-rated Sunday show @MeetThePress. Here are the previous "journalist panels" that @chucktodd stacked with Republicans to mislead viewers into thinking GOP talking points are objective analysis:
On Nov. 22 @chucktodd put Republican conspiracy theorist Kevin Cramer on his show to deny that Biden won the election. Cramer was allowed to spread this insane conspiracy theory at length and was never cut off despite lying brazenly *on a news show*
Steve Scalise signed the sedition letter to overturn the election. Today he was on @FoxNewsSunday to spread the lie that Trump won
Alex Azar refused to call Biden president-elect. Today he was on @FaceTheNation and wasn't challenged once about it
The news media is conservative
The degree to which journalists have granted permission to bad actors to spread this ludicrous conspiracy theory is equally disgusting and unsurprising
Neither Chris Wallace nor @margbrennan will ever face questions from media reporters on why they allow and encourage this
In a moment of sheer unawareness, @margbrennan asked Biden adviser Cedric Richmond how they can work with Republicans who don't acknowledge Biden won — minutes after she legitimized Alex Azar and gave him the top slot on her show following his refusal to acknowledge Biden won
For 32 days Trump and the Republican Party have tried to overturn the results of the election. It took the media about 8 days to say that, after sanitizing his bullshit into "sowing doubts" and "contesting the election" and "fighting back"
Even after years of covering Trump, the press always defaults into cleaning up what he says so that it sounds official and presidential rather than what it plainly is
Now that he's tweeted this you should have no reservations about saying the GOP is attempting a coup
The level-one reflex to this is to say “Trump is calling for the election to be overturned” when the actual story you should be writing is “The Republican Party is calling for the election to be overturned”
The news media is giving election truthers airtime and treating their attack on democracy as a "topic" that has two sides
Republican Rep. Gary Palmer, an open conspiracy theorist, was on MSNBC for NINE MINUTES and denied Biden won the election
The media is irreparably broken
The only responsible way for journalists to treat birthers and flat-earthers is to stop them from spreading misinformation. Don't allow them to abuse your platform
@HallieJackson spread this conspiracy theory on her show by pretending "Biden didn't win" is a legitimate position
Allowing a conspiracy theorist to say "Biden is not the legitimately elected president" and following up with "we should point out that judges have said otherwise" is a framing that suggests there are two sides. There are not. There is one side
This is not what Mike Braun, a Republican conspiracy theorist, was asked about on @ABC. He was on for 6 minutes and immediately denied Biden won the election. For the ENTIRE 6 MINUTES he spread the conspiracy theory that voter fraud stole it. He was never asked about covid relief
Braun lied about mysterious "boxes of ballots" that were seen in polling places, "thousands" of fake absentee ballots, and other OAN/Newsmax conspiracy videos that have been debunked repeatedly. He was allowed to push these lies for six solid minutes. Complete gross negligence
ABC literally did a Both Sides segment about “did Joe Biden win?” They had Braun on for six minutes to say he did not win. Then they had Durbin on to say he did win. I guess we’ll let the viewers decide
