One of the first things I did when I went full-time on my business was to join a #mastermind peer group. I'm so glad I did.

Thread 🧵
The biggest challenge I've had in switching from employee to entrepreneur has been mental.

As an employee, I've always had a boss to pass questions to. I'm pretty self-directed, but just knowing I could punt some tough calls up the chain was oddly reassuring.
As an entrepreneur, there's nobody "up the chain" to tell you whether you're making the right decision or not.

You have to make hundreds of little decisions every week and they really start to weigh on you.
That's where having @NickMcHenry and @KKoppenhaver in a mastermind group with me has come in.

While we can't make decisions for each other, just knowing that others out there have your back and might help share the cognitive load has been huge.
If you're going to start a business in 2021, surround yourself with people who are doing the same.

Entrepreneurship can be isolating, scary, and exhausting. Having a few people to go through it together with makes a huge difference.

Over the past few months, we've looked at hundreds of technical blogs to compile the top entrants in each category.

I'm really proud of the team at @draftdev for all their work, but here are a few of my favorites. 🧵 Image
@MediumEng has always been one of my go-to engineering blogs, and they're well-deserving of the 15 spot on our list here: draft.dev/learn/technica…
I'm not even a .NET programmer and I like @shanselman's blog. He made the number 2 spot on @sebnilsson's list of best C# blogs: draft.dev/learn/technica…
