What the @PASenateGOP did yesterday in not seating @SenatorBrewster is a miscarriage of justice and democracy - and yesterday was just our FIRST day of the 2021-22 session.

We should be alarmed about what they plan next. Here's why ⬇️
Legislative Republicans have shown no regard for the other branches of government.

They ignored court rulings, including the PA SUPREME COURT's ruling that affirmed @SenatorBrewster's victory. The judiciary doesn't matter to them.
When @JohnFetterman disagreed with their management of the #PASenate floor, they stripped him of his authority to preside over the body. The executive branch doesn't matter to them.
Despite losing every legal challenge and demonstrating no evidence of fraud, Senate Republicans asked our congressional delegation to object to the certification of Pennsylvania's votes and delay the inauguration of @JoeBiden.
They have shown a willingness to ignore the voters in not only the 45th senatorial district, but also the voters of the entire Commonwealth.
Without a care for our courts, our executives, or our voters - what will the @PASenateGOP try next?
Despite its recent behavior, the @PASenateGOP is not and cannot become dictators in this state.

The people of Pennsylvania elected public servants, not petty tyrants and Senate Republicans should remember that before their next coup.

Today, I opposed the nomination of Senator Jake Corman to President Pro Tempore.

I do not do this lightly, but I feel very passionately that he is not suited to this role.
The President Pro Tempore is to be a leader for the entire body – not of one party.

No where in the Constitution does it say that the leader should be beholden to the partisan whims of his own party.
However, in his short time in this pinnacle leadership role, he has shown an unwillingness to recognize that there are more members of this chamber than just those with an R behind their name.

You may have recently seen news reports of Republicans in the House and Senate seeking to do a partisan review of last week's election. Here is why I oppose these efforts.

⬇️ Thread ⬇️
There has been no evidence of fraud & there's no reason for this additional review. It is reprehensible for Republicans to parrot allegations from the outgoing President without any evidence, casting aspersions on our state and county officials who act with the utmost integrity.
There was a thorough review of the primary election by the Department of State and the broad, bipartisan Election Law Advisory Board was created earlier this year to review the general election and updates to election law. We do not need additional, partisan review.
