Meet me in the middle, says the unjust man.

You take a step toward him. He takes a step back.

Meet me in the middle, says the unjust man.
There aren't two separate tribes; there are hundreds—thousands—of different ways of living, all of us living together trying to honor each other's humanity. And then there are Republicans, who want to dominate everyone as the sole default, and call everyone else "the other side."
There aren't two separate realities. There's only reality. And then their are Republicans, who have built an unsustainable tower of self-dealing lies that they try to force all the rest of us to live in, which they call "reality."
We aren't "drifting apart." We are being terrorized and abused and menaced by people who cheer the pain of others, who demand the right to do whatever they want without consequence, and who credit their own overwhelming selfishness back to themselves as virtue.
You're damn right there's hostility. Even now Mitch McConnell's party leader has sent his fascist white supremacist supporters to storm the capital building to take "their" country back, away from "us."

You reap what you sow.

Fire Mitch McConnell into the sun.

Boldly locating the very important sliver of Venn overlap between “an insurrectionist mob, orchestrated by an authoritarian president directly against the official recognition of his opponent’s electoral victory for purpose of overturning the election” and “not a coup.”
For some the immediate task becomes normalization. "It can't happen here, and this is here, and it is happening, so it cannot be this."
It's the same reason that Trump didn't really mean the Nazis when he said "many fine people," or didn't really mean the Nazis when he told them "stand down and stand by" or didn't really mean the Nazis when this week he said "I love you." Or else they aren't *really* Nazis.

Republicans caused this to happen, because they wanted it to happen.

The president.
The Senators.
The Representatives.
And their voters.

An open show that they care about nothing but domination. That is their politics.

The gates were opened for them.

Later they were escorted out.

In between, they delivered their message. This space belongs to white supremacy, because this country belongs to white supremacy.

And now those who orchestrated it will pretend they had nothing to do with it.
"The worst of us are safer at their very worst than any of the rest of you are at your best."

That's the message. Republicans have delivered it for decades, last year most notably in their Covid policy.

They're very consistent to it.

The American Fascist Party.

Govern like you won all 50 states with 99% of the vote. You know, the way Republicans do when they “win” with 47% of the vote.
Act like there are no Republican Senators, because there are none worthy of their seats.

Gently set something heavy atop Joe Manchin, and use EOs if he breaks free.

Bold sweeping historical progressive agenda.
Appoint a Senate Majority Leader who drinks Republican whine.

Kill the filibuster
New state(s), voting protections, electoral protection, gerrymander reform
A comprehensive and adequate national pandemic response bill
Campaign reform
10 new Supreme Court seats

for starters

I know this is radical leftist talk, but you should not be able to kill somebody just because you feel scared in the moment.
We know full well that a stand-your-ground law is intended only for utilization by white people, and will be enforced as such.

Call "stand-your-ground" what it is. A modern decriminalization of lynching.
Find me somebody who favors "stand your ground" who doesn't also believe that Trayvon Martin—an unarmed teenager being stalked in his own neighborhood by an armed adult—was the aggressor.

It's a pro-lynching policy.

Imagine if these people ever experienced actual oppression.
The law never

Enslaved their great-grandparents
Robbed their grandparents
Imprisoned their parents
Stole their property
Shot them when unarmed
Exonerated their killers
Honored their murderers with flags and statues
There is no massive effort at the national, state, and local levels to disenfranchise them of the vote.

There exists no political party and media apparatus dedicated to the premise that allowing them to participate in society equates to theft.

So we're just going to skate past a sitting U.S. Senator making the white power sign with neo Nazis at a campaign event huh.
Oh well at least the *other* Georgia Republican Senator in a runoff election won't have the same prob—oh damn.
