For weeks this summer, mothers in PDX marching for BLM were tear gassed by federal law enforcement. Yesterday, MAGA terrorists incited by Trump, Hawley, Cruz and other seditionists stormed the US Capitol and nobody stopped them. Where were the feds? 1/

I worked at the Capitol. With staff ID, I couldn't go anywhere without passing through metal detectors and passing by police with assault rifles multiple times a day. Yesterday these terrorists stormed the Capitol armed and unchecked. Why was this allowed? 2/

This place I worked and love was violated, and I am angry and sad. My friends that worked there or still work there are angry and sad. Staff do not work on the Hill to get rich, they do it because they believe in the work. They should not see this 👇on the House floor! 3/

My rage has not abated, it has grown. I worked on the Hill on 9/11 & when 2 police officers were tragically killed by a madman with a gun--surprise attacks that lead to dramatic security increases. BILLIONS have been spent to protect OUR house-the people's house. And yet...1/

This attack--planned in plain site by a bunch of morons who had merch!--was carried out with little resistance. Think about it, the seditious mob brought and built a gallows and platform with 6x6 beams at OUR capitol. This required some planning. 2/

For anyone wondering—The most recent 50-50 Senate occurred following the 2000 election. Then, Sens. Tom Daschle (D-SD) and Trent Lott (R-MS), the Democratic and Republican leaders of the Senate respectively, negotiated a power sharing agreement to guide the chamber. 1/

Key features of the agreement included:
• Majority Leader: Lott was recognized as the de facto majority leader following Inauguration Day, based on the tie-breaking vote of Republican Vice President Dick Cheney. 2/

Committees had equal numbers of Republicans and Democrats and equal numbers of staff, but again based on the Republican Vice President, Republicans were named as the chairs of each committee. 3/
