iwaizumi has been accustomed to oikawa’s whines and rants when it rains. it’s his least favorite weather for his pants gets little splashes of water w/ mud when they walk home.
“iwa-chan, did you bring an umbrella with you that we can share? i didn’t bring mine.”
“yeah, sure.”
on the way home, the two of them shared iwa’s umbrella. they barely fit, their shoulders are brushing against each other, and their fingers brushing past one another sends electricity throughout iwaizumi’s body.
“after our graduation, i’ll be going abroad & continue playing.”
this turned the soft pour of rain into a typhoon inside iwaizumi: something that he didn’t see coming thus hitting him while he’s unprepared.
“that’s good for you.” was the only thing he was able to say and was cut off when it suddenly rained cats and dogs. they decided to +
seek shelter in an old shed, waiting for the heavens to calm down because iwa’s umbrella gave up. its rib snapped.
“i guess we have to-“
“take care & don’t you dare forget about the team when you leave.”
oikawa was appalled for a few seconds and chuckled when he recovered.
“of course. why would i forget the best team i’ve ever had?” he beamed.
the heavens finally calmed down with its violent cry.
