(THREAD) Today, the Senate Intelligence Committee released the final volume in its bipartisan Russia investigation.…
This report was 3.5 years in the making. It is the product of hundreds of witness interviews (conducted mostly from the SCIF in the Hart building -- but also from locales far and wide, as needed) and millions of documents.
And it wasn't easy. Obviously this topic is incredibly political. And at several high-profile moments over the last 3.5 years, it very nearly ran off the rails. That it didn't is a testament to a few things:

Would anyone like to hear another anecdote about the sad, slow death of local media?

Who would like to hear a story about Tom Cotton and the New York Times?

Here goes. It’s a personal favorite of mine:

This is the same federal government that keeps saying states and hospitals should be responsible for obtaining their own PPE.
And yes, these seizures are absolutely happening. We’ve heard about it directly from hospitals in Virginia.

.@MarkWarner stopped to talk to another Senator but I had too much forward momentum going to stop and so I just crashed into him at full speed from behind, so that’s how my Monday was going in case you’re wondering
To both his and the other Senator’s credit neither of them seemed to find it worth remarking upon, which was nice
In my defense I usually gotta move pretty fast on these short little legs to keep up!!
