Most people have a tough time reflecting when they are in pain and they pay attention to other things when the pain passes, so they miss out on the reflections that provide the lessons. If you can reflect well while you’re in pain (which is probably too much to ask), great. (1/6) Image
But if you can remember to reflect after it passes, that’s valuable too. (2/6)
The challenges you face will test and strengthen you. (3/6)
I am in pain because of the loss of my son. I feel it emotionally. We all have our emotional minds that are subliminal and intellectual minds that are conscious. (4/6)
It’s so important to be in them both and align them when reflecting because they both have to be well and aligned for one to be well. Meditation helps me a lot. So does doing what comes naturally and feeling and observing myself feeling and doing them. (5/6)
Not only does this approach make me feel better, it helps me understand how reality works better which helps me deal with it better. It is helping me now. I hope this approach can help you through your pains in the way it is helping me. (6/6)

There is nothing more important than understanding how reality works and how to deal with it. The state of mind you bring to this process makes all the difference. (1/4) Image
I have found it helpful to think of my life as if it were a game in which each problem I face is a puzzle I need to solve. (2/4)
By solving the puzzle, I get a gem in the form of a principle that helps me avoid the same sort of problem in the future. (3/4)

The question that Americans have to answer is: are the principles that bind us together greater or weaker than the principles that are tearing us apart? (1/11) Image
Before we collectively, as a country, can decide what to do, we must try to reach an agreement on what we want most and how we should deal with each other to get it. In other words, we must see if we can agree on our most fundamental principles. (2/11)
To be a truly united United States we must reaffirm our vows on the biggest shared principles and, in pursuit of them, reaffirm our protocols for thoughtful disagreement through a process that the overwhelming majority of Americans agree with. (3/11)

My family and I wish we could personally thank each and everyone one of you who shared your caring and condolences for our loss. While I knew about the power of love I had no idea what a healing effect it would have. (1/4)
And I had no idea that we could build such relationships as we have on social media. You are good, kind people who I admire and feel that I have a meaningful relationship with. (2/4)
For me our interactions were a good reminder of the healing and strengthening power of love and empathy as compared with the destructive power of hate and lack of empathy, especially at this time when hate and lack of empathy are on the ascent. Thank you for all of this. (3/4)

Last week, I offered 10,000 @TisBest Charity Gift Cards to donate to the charities of your choice. There were no strings attached - my hope was simply that you'd experience the joy of receiving a charitable gift rather than a traditional one. That offer was gone in 90 minutes.1/3
I'm now happy to share that since then, a great group of people— @ariannahuff, @aplusk, Mila Kunis, @Kevin, @JayShettyIW, @reedhastings, @DrOz, @GayleKing, David McCormick, Dina Powell McCormick, @marcericlore, Paul Tudor Jones and Chris Haire—has stepped up to contribute...(2/3)
...so that we can together make a new offer.

This time, we’re offering 20,000 @TisBest Charity Gift Cards (at $50 each) so that even more of you have an opportunity to experience this unique kind of giving. Stay tuned for an announcement on their release Friday 12/11. (3/3)

It has been an incredible joy to give people the gift of a donation to their favorite charities and to show them how easy it is for them to do the same for others. (1/5)
It’s also been thrilling to receive nearly 2,000 notes from wonderful people many of whom are giving away these charitable gifts themselves now that they know how easy and wonderful it is. This is going viral because it’s so great. (2/5)
With the help of other donors who decided to join me in making this offer — @reedhastings, @kevin, @ariannahuff, @DrOz, @JayShettyIW, and a number of others — we are going to donate another million dollars’ worth of @TisBest Charity Gift cards. (3/5)

This year, I’m offering you a $100 @TisBest Charity Gift Card to donate to the charities of your choice. There are no strings attached. (1/4)
My hope is simply that you will experience the joy of receiving a charitable gift rather than a traditional one and you might consider giving charitable gifts to your friends, families, and colleagues. (2/4)
For 10+ years, I've given friends and colleagues Gift Cards that allow them to contribute to their favorite charities, and I’ve found this way of gifting wonderful. The people I give these gifts to love them and I love hearing what their favorite charities are and why. (3/4)
