N.S. RCMP have charged 23 people from Yarmouth and Shelburne county in relation to criminal activity at a lobster pound in Middle West Pubnico on October 13,2020. All 23 charged w break and enter, 8 of those charged w mischief. @APTNNews
October 13, 2020 was part of many instances, almost daily, violent reactions from non-Indigenous fishers who said the Mi’kmaw treaty fishing was illegal. @APTNNews
RCMP were criticized for standing aside during the attack at the pound and all the other violent attacks on land and sea. The Mi’kmaq have always faced aggression for treaty fishing, esp over the last 20 years since the Marshall Decision. @APTNNews
