How Flight Attendant Jackie (AKA Grandma Jackie) saved the day.
Warning: this thread may cause happy tears.
Two years ago, Delta customers Karee and Rodney were flying home from China with their newly adopted daughter, Bella. They didn’t speak Mandarin. Bella didn’t speak English, but Flight Attendant Jackie spoke both. (2/7)
While the family had been together for two weeks, a flight around the world was a big change! Bella became super upset on the flight home, and Karee and Rodney were unsure of how to comfort their daughter - but Grandma J knew just what to do. (3/7)
Grandma Jackie came by several times and stayed with the family, soothing Bella and holding her as she walked up and down the aisle. The new family was overjoyed at finding a new friend and exchanged contact info. (4/7)
But wait - there's more! They have kept in touch, so Bella invited Grandma Jackie to her 7th birthday, knowing this might be a long shot… but Grandma J always comes through. (5/7)
Not only did she show up, but she brought ingredients to make homemade dumplings so that Bella could have real Chinese food for her birthday. *Cue ugly crying* (6/7)
The people you meet while traveling are often just as special as the destination. We’re thankful for employees like Jackie that go the extra mile to make some of the most difficult times a little easier. (7/7)

To minimize the spread of viruses, we're expanding disinfecting and sanitizing procedures and adding a fogging process in our airports and on our aircraft.
Hand sanitizers are readily available at ticket counters, boarding gates, Need Help Centers, Baggage Service Offices and Delta Sky Clubs. You can also find hand cleanser or cleansing towelettes in the amenity kits on all long-haul flights.
