As Congress debates impeachment, one of the Capitol riot suspects, Cleveland Meredith, is about to appear in federal court in DC. Meredith was charged over the weekend w/threatening in text messages to kill Nancy Pelosi & Mayor Muriel Bowser of Washington.
Stay tuned.
As we wait for the Meredith to begin, note that a judge in Boise has released Josiah Colt, charged w/swinging from the balcony of the Senate last week.
Judge is rescheduling the bail hearing of Cleveland Meredith until tomorrow.
The newly complaint in the case of Robert K. Packer, the "Camp Auschwitz" sweatshirt guy, says that a witness ID'd him to the feds b/c Packer wore the sweatshirt regularly around Newport News, VA.
Here he is at the store...
NEW: Feds have brought unlawful entry & disruption of governmental business charges against Nicholas Rodean, the guy famous for wearing his work ID to the riot.
Similar charges have also now been issued against William Pepe, an MTA employee assigned to the Mechanical Department in the Brewster Yard in New York.

Robert Sanford, the retired PA firefighter who has been charged in the DC riot, went to the Capitol following "the President's instructions," a complaining witness told the FBI.
Peter Harding, a Buffalo area man, has been charged by feds in the Capitol riot. The FBI notes that he was captured in social media photo lighting fire to media camera equipment outside building before entering.
The FBI says Kevin Lyons was "evasive" at first about being inside the Capitol. Then, when agents showed him an Instagram pic he'd taken & posted of Nancy Pelosi's office, he caved.
"Wow, you're pretty good," he said. "That was only up for an hour."
New details in bail memo for Lonnie Coffman, the Alabama man charged w/bringing 11 Molotov cocktails to Capitol.
*Note w/info on "elected representatives" and judge who was a "bad guy."
*Handwritten notes on magazine w/contact info for radio host Mark Levin, Hannity and Ted Cruz.
From the bail memo:
Here's a pic of the Mason jar Molotovs.
Feds also have pics of other weaponry in Coffman's possession: an assault rifle, 9 mm, crossbow, stun gun, much ammo & sticks of "camo smoke."
INBOX: New York State Bar Association launches investigation into removing Rudy Giuliani.
To be clear: This is not a disbarment proceeding. It's an investigation into removing Rudy from a private organization of lawyers. It would be a stain on his career if it happens, but he could still practice.
Some context on the Giuliani bar association investigation:
While it won't affect his law license, the group says that it has not removed a lawyer from who had not already been disbarred since 1904.
NEW: Federal charges filed against Mark Leffingwell for assault on a federal law enforcement officer at yesterday's Capitol Hill riot.
After hitting a Capitol PO repeatedly in the head & chest, complaint says, the suspect...apologized. 1drv.ms/b/s!AnM-WBnwB3…
NEW: DC federal prosecutors have charged CHRISTOPHER ALBERTS w/illegal possession of black Taurus 9mm at Capitol Hill riot.
"ALBERTS stated that he was in possession of the firearm for personal protection and he did not intend on using the firearm to harm anyone," complaint says.
From the transcript of today's election hearing in Atlanta (which Trump's lawyers did not allow remote access to):
Judge Mark Cohen begs Trump's lawyers for an authority giving him power to "step in...and decertify the electors that have been certified."
Spoiler: there isn't one.
Strong football metaphor here by Russell Willard of the GA AG's office on Trump's Hail Mary case:
"The fans have gone home, the marching bands have gone home, even his own team has gone home, and the plaintiff continues to think that he has some viable path
forward to victory."
Setting all metaphors aside, Willard just lets it hang out:
"They are throwing the equivalent of crap up against the wall just hoping that some of it will stick and convince someone."
NEW: The city of Detroit has just asked a federal judge to refer Sidney Powell, Lin Wood and the rest of Team Kraken for disbarment proceedings.
Powell & her colleagues filed 4 Kraken suits alleging a baseless conspiracy about foreign powers & Dominion voting machines. Judge Linda Parker in Detroit swatted it down.
Detroit's lawyers note that decision & say now it's time for the lawyers "to answer for that misconduct."
The filing notes the by-now repeated sins of Powell's filings: fake numbers, unverified claims, experts w/no expertise.
It also notes that Trump has continued to use the Kraken suits in his "desperate campaign to thwart the will of the voters" even up to his call w/GA's SOS.
