The DC USAO announces charges against John Sullivan. Sullivan recorded Ashli Babbitt’s shooting and shared the footage with WaPo; the video’s soundtrack puts Sullivan in the Capitol trying to talk officers into abandoning the door to the speakers lobby. justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/uta…
Sullivan says he’s a journalist who was only there to document events, and the affidavit in support of the complaint makes a real effort to knock that down. justice.gov/usao-dc/press-…
Among other things, the affidavit notes that Sullivan documented himself encouraging rioters to break down specific doors, advocating w police to leave, offering to make use of a knife, intentionally breaking a Capitol window, and generally indulging in revolutionary fervor.
