At a press conference at his home in Kampala, opposition leader @HEBobiwine says the Museveni regime has been planning for the “worst rigging” in the history of Uganda. In some parts of Uganda, he says voters were given pre-filled ballots. #UgandaDecides2021
@HEBobiwine alleges that media houses have been ordered not report irregularities and that military has been deployed to newsrooms. He alleges that the electoral commission has been captured by the Museveni regime.
@HEBobiwine says he is confident “we defeated the dictator by far.” He then called on “all Ugandans to reject the blatant usurpation of their voice.”
In essence, @HEBobiwine is rejecting the election results as counting continues.
@HEBobiwine was asked what was next. He said he is conferring with his people but every “legal” avenue is on the table, including street protests.
I asked @HEBobiwine to clarify... are you rejecting results and declaring yourself the winner? He said, he was rejecting the results and “we are winning...”
