A Pakistani News channel, @aajnews_urdu reports that 3⃣ senior members of TTP-JuA targeted in an IED attack in the Baharabad locality of the Sarkani district of Kunar. 2⃣ of them, Noor Gul, aka Muslimyar, & Rasheed Mama, are killed, and the third, Waheed Gul, is injured. 1/5 
The area shares a close border with the Mohmand tribal district of Pakistan. It remains a stronghold of JuA, formerly known as TTP Mohmand, since 2010, where they moved due to the Pak army military operations. JuA is led by Abdul Wali Mohmand, aka Umar Khalid Khurasani. 2/5
A former commander of Harkatul Mujahideen, Khurasani became a founding leader of TTP, known as the topmost anti-Pakistan TTP commander, splintered from TTP in Aug 2014 over policy differences starting from negotiations with Pakistan, but merged back into TTP in Aug 2020. 3/5
If TTP starts negotiations with the Pakistan government again, as rumored that some secret negotiations are already started, then the Khurasani remains a serious threat for any such political settlement of TTP with the government. 4/5
