I'm at an extremely well guarded MN Capitol, where several pro-Trump rallies are planned this weekend. Today's group has a permit for 150 ppl and have publicly warned agitators to stay home. This is the designated "First Amendment Zone," security told me
This guy's name is Bruce. Wouldn't give me last name, but he says Jesus will judge me bc twitter and CNN censored his friends.
Guy in BLM mask blasting circus music. Says "this whole thing is a circus!" Calls them Nazis. State patrol removed him.
A couple dudes w ammo
This is Allen, who brought an AR15 bc he heard Antifa was coming. Says he feels silly now with such low turnout. Says he doesn't like Trump; here to tell Walz to reopen MN so he can get back to work.

Big federal charges this morning. Ivan Hunter, a 26 yo member of the far-right Boogaloo Bois, is charged with shooting up Minneapolis' third precinct (which he helped set on fire) and screaming "Justice for Floyd!" during Mpls unrest. Full story tk
This was part of a coordinated attack from Boogaloos in Mpls that week, apparently to ramp up violence. Hunter told friends to "go for police buildings."
One revelation from the complaint is that Hunter was in communication w/ fellow Boogaloo Steve Carillo the night the Minneapolis precinct burned. A few hours before this exchange, Carillo killed a police officer in CA, according to charges there.

Over the past few days, footage I streamed while covering protests outside the @realDonaldTrump rally in Minneapolis has been cited as evidence that @Ilhan participated in an "antifa riot." As the @AP fact checkers confirmed, this is false. What really happened: A thread.

It was a planned protest of the Trump event, attended by hundreds of ppl, mostly peaceful, though late in the evening some agitators did become violent and confrontational.
