A 13-year-old girl was kidnapped and gang-raped by nine men in Madhya Pradesh’s Umaria district twice within five days.
According to the police, the 13-year-old girl was first kidnapped by a young man known to her on January 4 and then raped by him and six of his friends for two days. The accused, on January 5, threatened to kill her if she told anybody so she did not file a complaint.
The horror was repeated six days later as the girl was again kidnapped on January 11 by one of the seven men who raped her before and then held captive in jungles where three of them raped her again.
The horror did not end here as after being let go by the three accused, she was kidnapped by two truck drivers and was allegedly raped before she managed to flee and returned home on the morning of January 15.
“We've so far arrested six accused and hope to catch the others. The case is registered under POSCO and relevant sections of the IPC," said police spokesperson Arvind Tiwari.
Madhya Pradesh Congress MLA Harsh Vijay Gehlot was caught on camera threatening a woman officer after a tractor rally in Sailana town in Ratlam district.
The incident took place on Sunday, January 17, after the Congress carried out a tractor rally in support of farmers protesting against the centre's three farm laws.

The Bombay High Court, on Monday, January 18, said that a #MediaTrial during an ongoing investigation violates program code under the Cable TV Network Regulation Act and would impact the probe.
The bench passed the order while hearing a petition filed by former police officers from Maharashtra, activists, lawyers and NGOs in November, seeking a directive restraining the “media trial” in the Sushant Rajput death case.
The court held that the trial by media could interfere with the administration of criminal justice.
