That move enabled Murdoch to launch Fox News. And this was James Murdoch's analysis just 2 days ago: "Those outlets that propagate lies to their audience have unleashed insidious and uncontrollable forces that will be with us for years."
Ofcom has licensed a Murdoch news channel to launch in the UK. It will be bound by impartiality rules, interpreted by Ofcom.

With Dacre in charge of Ofcom, that channel will go the same way as Fox News. That's why his appointment is dangerous for democracy.
