Today's #covidqc#covid19qc database: 1744 new cases (w/a caveat saying case data incomplete), 50 deaths of which 8 in the last day, 26 in the last week, 7 earlier & 9 unknown, hospitalizations -14 (1460), ICU adm -12 (215), 37087 tests on Friday, 213,008 total recoveries (1/2)
3 straight days of double-digit declines in hospitalizations & 5 straight days of relative decline (fewer admissions than the day before). I'm no immunologist & no career public health reporter, but wondering if... #covidqc#covid19qc#datatweet (2/3?)
...wondering if this could be the beginning of the much-hyped partial protection effect, where people who have received 1 dose of the vaccine get less severe forms of the disease. The timing would line up. @Aaron_Derfel@picardonhealth ? #covidqc#covid19qc#datatweet (3/4)
Vaccine data should be released around 1 p.m., no confirmed date for next briefing but it wouldn't surprise me if there was one tomorrow. #covidqc#covid19qc#datatweet (4/4)

Last night, a guy walked up to a Montreal homeless shelter & found it closed due to a plumbing issue. He curled up in a public toilet instead. He froze to death. His name was Raphael André and he was a human being.
I didn't know #RaphaelAndré and I have no claim on his story. What I can say is this: Since the pandemic began, shelters have had to cut capacity, hours & services due to physical distancing. Homeless ppl are not exempt from 8 p.m. COVID curfew. (1/4?)
#Legault was warned about this. He said "there will be places" for homeless ppl to stay. He said police would "show understanding" w/regards to homeless ppl & spare them the $1500 fine (which might as well be $15K). (2/4?)
