Every 19th January, with intrepid thought, we think back of the black day of our lives. We keep reminding ourselves of the horror and death of that fateful night. Those who saw and those who have grown up listening to the gory details, still shudder at the thought of that 1/
Night and the aftermath which nobody imagined. After 30 years of being uprooted, our community has still survived. We decided to focus on education, and shaping our lives back without any help from the govt who left us at our own peril. 2/
Hope kept us alive every single day. But where are we as a community today? How many of us our trying to save our culture and traditions, let alone our language? Do we have unity amongst ourselves? Who our are real leaders? We have various KP org who claim to be real 3/
Voice/leaders for our community, with others trying to bringing them down. More than being the voice of our community, we have become spokesperson of various political parties (some have become official cheerleaders of seperatist). We fight on Instagram to prove which is the 4/
Real authentic page of KP. We fight to prove who will make a better movie portraying our tragedy. The silent infighting amongst us is creating an invisible barrier.
Going back to homeland is still a distant dream, but what is HOME now, after 31 years? 5/
Will our homeland be the newer version of Ghetto society? Will it be feasible for us to trust again our friends, colleagues, neighbours, milkman, etc (considering they were our real tormentors)?
Who will answer these unanswered questions? #KPHolocaustDay #19thJanuary
