Around 2000 BC in Assyria, India and Sumeria and later in ancient Greece and during the Roman Empire, lenders based in temples gave loans, while accepting deposits and performing the change of money.
I can't get over thinking about what a Spanish or Portuguese explorer that just divided up their global realm might have thought coming across some of these ruins on their explorations..
Was it kept secret until they thought they understood everything?
If so, did the secret get out before the ruins were fully understood?
Did they find any that were intact that were still in good shape and inhabited?
What is up with this idea of ancient machinery that they found in Antarctica?
