It's finally happened - women on my timeline asking each other how you go about taking leaves of absence, going unpaid, using all leave (if they have it) because working full time + supporting kids with at home learning + trying to manage everyday tasks is unsustainable.
Parents are burning out. We're burning out.
Flexible work hours isn't enough. How are there not leave options for parents of at home learners right now? Protected, paid leave?
How is it okay to ask parents to work full time, educate full time, parent full time, and more?
Telling parents to "take time for their mental health" right now is a farce. Kids are burnt out & so are their parents.
