Sen. Pimentel, after having undergone testing for COVID-19 in March, went to the Makati Medical Center to accompany his wife Kathryna who was about to give birth. He was supposed to be under strict home quarantine after he got exposed to positive cases. bit.ly/397OLAy
Complainant Atty. Quicho on DOJ junking quarantine breach complaint vs Sen. Pimentel: Shoutout tayo sa Department of Health, magparamdam naman siguro kayo
Complainant Atty. Quicho: Sen. Pimentel is mandated to observe strict quarantine protocols. He didn't follow. Worse, he went to Makati Med and endangered the lives of doctors, patients, families. Makati Med denounced the breach of protocols.
Complainant Atty. Quicho: Sen. Pimentel demanded to be tested. He stated that in his counter-affidavit.
Complainant Atty. Quicho: Citizens have been languishing in jails for breaching protocols
Complainant Atty. Quicho says Sen. Pimentel 'was not apologetic' in his counter-affidavit, tells DOJ to release the document
Complainant Atty. Quicho: Nakakahiya kasi kailangan nilang pakawalan si Koko Pimentel. At the end of the day, justice must still prevail.
Complainant Atty. Quicho on DOJ junking quarantine breach complaint vs Sen. Pimentel: We are still in the middle of a very difficult pandemic. People are dying. And then there's this decision stating that you can just breach protocols.
Complainant Atty. Quicho: Just because Koko Pimentel happens to be a senator, has the good graces of this administration, he gets a free pass
