And here come the increase in taxes to cover the debt servicing cost which will soon increase:
The tax changes proposed by the Armenian authorities may lead to an increase in the shadow turnover - Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors Nairi Sargsyan
Sargsyan stated this on Friday during discussions on the package of tax changes which will cancel some tax benefits to education and healthcare sectors, and also revise downward the 115 million Dram turnover tax-exemption which small businesses got shortly after the revolution.
The 115 million Dram turnover tax rule which was passed in Summer 2019 was one of the most significant achievements of the 2018 revolution. Reducing it will either push small businesses into the shadow economy, or they will pay VAT of 20% and the prices of good will rise.
"According to the government, the [downward] revision would stimulate these companies to switch to paying VAT and income tax."

I remind the government that we are in recession, and it's going to stimulate them to shut down, or in the best scenario go into shadow economy.

Pashinyan in the parliament today: there was no discussion, during the negotiation process in general, that displaced Azeraijanis would not return to Shushi, and Shushi had an Azerbaijani population of 90% and more before the [first] war, liberation. You want to say that...
...the city of Shushi with an Azerbaijani population of 90% and more is Armenian from that perspective? And then you (opposition MP) tell me I have announced "Artsakh is Armenia." If you think Artsakh is not Armenia and this is your position, then express it officially.
Pashinyan was answering an MP's question on why he did not take Putin's proposal on stopping the war on October 18 when it was possible to keep Shushi. The Azeris were demanding the return of the Azeri population to Shushi through that proposal and this was his answer.

Pashinyan: it is illogical for the ruling force to hold early elections if opposition representatives do not want it.

According to him, the opposition’s refusal means recognition of their potential defeat in the elections. Image
Pashinyan: why did the opposition not demand the resignation of the Armenian leaders when they negotiated previously and could not resolve the Karabakh conflict.
Pashinyan admitted that he had given the army orders to leave positions in Syunik: this decision was made for the security of the military and to ensure security in the region. He added that there was a danger of resumption of hostilities, and this decision saved the situation. Image

MP Sofia Hakobyan from ruling majority "My Step" block defects from the faction, says she's now an independent MP. "I will be against all the issues that will not be in the interests of our country and nation."
Sofia Hovsepyan* not Hakobyan.
N.B. there is significant difference between leaving the faction, becoming an independent MP, and turning down the mandate of an MP altogether. Under Armenia law, if an MP resigns, another person can be appointed in their place, and thus, the faction remains intact.

I know I will get hate for this from some circles, but will write whatever I experienced myself. Over the course of the holidays I met so many people in Armenia and I am surprised that not one supported Pashinyan [anymore]. Some told me they are not...
...Pashinyan supporters at core but voted for him in 2018 riding the wave. I made sure to dig as deep as I could to find out if they can list some friend & family who support Pashinyan, and all the time they listed someone who supports him that he/she was a party member of...
...Pashinyan, or within his team. I even met government employees who unlike my expectations were against him. I am positive I got the opinion of 100-150 people real time. Each time I congratulated someone, they were with relatives, some 10-15 people.
