As a registered voter, tax payer & former ADF member & on behalf of #strandedAussies I'm calling on you & @ausgov to adopt the following COVID response plan as a matter of urgency..

1.Immediately issue a public statement & provide the truth regarding the communications sent by DFAT in March 2020 advising expat Citizens & PR’s who had employment, access to health care & lodgings, of the option to remain overseas & follow local authorities’ instructions.

2.Provide monthly updates informing the Australian public of the number & type of departures & arrivals across Australian International borders. - These reports shall include at minimum:

2a.Number of Citizens & PR’s currently registered with DFAT
2b.Number of Citizens & PR’s registered with DFAT who have now returned
2c.Number of Citizens & PR’s arriving/departing Australia

2d.Number of non-citizen arrivals by visa sub-class,
2e.Number of Exemption arrivals broken down by category; Business Travel, Sports & Entertainment, Non-Citizens, etc.

3.Immediately begin income testing of all Australian Citizens & PR’s stranded overseas

3a.establish a Federal Government grant or ongoing support payment scheme so those who meet the income test may afford the basics of shelter food & healthcare whilst they remain unable to return home; OR

3b.Repatriate these Citizens & PR’s by immediate means which could include a military extraction using RAAF Assets

4.Implement a quarantine queue system for international arrivals into Australia regardless of category of arrival or country of citizenship/residency as follows;
[All arrivals regardless of their status SHALL undergo the exact same quarantine requirements in common facilities]

4a.A quarantine booking shall be made & confirmed before travelers book their passage so they can be assured of a place, and not get bumped from their flight at the gate and/or “queue jump” Australian Citizens & PR’s. [this includes travelers leaving Australia on Business etc]

4b.The queue system shall prioritize ALL international arrivals in the following order of priority
4b i.Australian Citizens & PR’s (and immediate family) who are medically or financially vulnerable, or who are classified as illegal aliens due to expired visas

4b ii.Australian Citizens & PR’s (and immediate family) who are registered with DFAT, in order of registration date
4b iii.Australian Citizens & PR’s (and immediate family) – remaining cohort of expatriates

4b iv.Australian Citizens & PR’s (and immediate family) who have departed Australia with exemption
4b v.Other visa holders such as international students, skilled visa holders, partners etc.

4b vi.All other classes of international arrivals including but not limited to, business travel, sports & entertainment, and non-citizens
[Hear us on this one Scotty, NO Celebrities' NO Sports people or teams until you lift the caps and quarantine !!!]

5.Provide a coordinated, long-term approach to repatriation flights which shall operate on the queue system, allowing Citizens & PR’s time to get their affairs (such as housing and other commitments) in order prior to departing their host country, and

5. continued; Enable people time enough to travel to the departing port & obtain any health tests required by the Australian government prior to boarding the flight.

[Repatriation flight seats shall cost no more than the same flight route & seat class did on 01-OCT-2019]

6.Increase quarantine capacity – including the use of federal quarantine options – to allow the number of arrivals under international flight caps to go up.

7.Remove restrictions on the number of passengers on flights. [This is the number one issue with airline price gouging]

8.Provide direct assistance to Citizens and PR’s to obtain the Covid-19 PCR test which is now required to board a plane from Jan-22, 2021 – Many countries are unable to turn tests around in 72 hours, and the cost is significant for those who are suffering financial hardship.

9.Allow Citizens & PR’s to board planes with proof they have recovered from Covid-19 from a medical professional regardless of a positive Covid-19 PCR test [A positive PCR test may be due to ‘shedding’ months after the patient has recovered]

10.Provide a co-ordinated vaccine rollout for stranded Australians overseas - Australia is manufacturing the AstraZeneca vaccine on shore at CSL in volumes that will more than cover the Australian population.

10. continued; We are asking that this vaccine be distributed at all embassies, high commissions, and diplomatic missions throughout the world for Australian Citizens & PR’s unable to return home.

11.Utilize the RAAF fleet to conduct repatriation flights which are booked in advance by Citizens & PR’s.
