1. Ngano/fairtale

A family had a rooster, goat & bull. In addition there was also a mouse/rat that wondered at the household looking for food. Everyone despised the mouse.

ONE day the father of the house set up a mouse trap to catch this despised mouse @Wamagaisa @freemanchari

2. When the mouse saw this trap/riva it went to the rooster:

Mouse: Rooster can you trip this trap. If you dont, you will all die

Rooster: No mouse, this trap is meant to catch you & scare you. I will not help you in tripping the mouse. You are on your own @MamoyoT @NzouJnr

3. Next the mouse went to the goat.

Mouse: Goat can you please trip this riva/trap. If you dont, you will all die.

Goat: Mouse you are crazy, we all know you are the one trapped here. A small trap like this cannot kill or harm me. Deal with your own issues @drjaytee87

4. Next the mouse went to the family bull, those ones with family names (remudzimu)

Mouse: Shefu can you please trip this trap, if you dont, you will all die

Bull: 🤣🤣🤣, u are crazy, unopenga. We all know this trap can only kill you not me. No way such a stone can harm me

5. That night, a huge Mamba cripped under the trap & got trapped. The next morning the father of the house, samusha, saw that the trap had been tripped. In his mind it was the mouse, in trying to retrieve, the Mamba bit him.

Within a few hours, he passed away 😢

6. On the 1st day of the funeral, family members slaughtered the Rooster, then on 2nd the goat, and then on the burial day, the Bull.

So the rooster, goat, bull & samusha (father) all died.

The mouse was watching with sadness. Maybe some should have listened? @DarkForceGirl01

Nyaya yeGonzo neriva. The fable of rat (mouse) and the trap. Moral- even the faintest voice, the voice of the less powerful, the despised, the poor matters.

Ngano were meant to be didactic. Thanks @Wamagaisa for inspiring us to start story telling in these streets. Lost wisdom
