Savarkar favoured the militarisation of hindus even before WW2 occured ! And if he was a "British stooge" why did he write a letter to US prez to persuade UK to withdraw British imperialism?
Savarkar concluded that even though u openly resist Indian soldiers placement in British military, it doesn't gonna matter as u r already supporting them indirectly through taxes, working in postal, railways etc! So we should seize this opportunity!Even Netaji supported his view!
Moreover training indian soldiers largely helped INA in a large way! Moreover Gandhi himself supported the military recruitment in WW1! Another main reason savarkar insisted hindus to join military training was the rise of Muslims in the army helped by the Muslim league !
Now imagine what would have happened if savarkar didn't recruit hindus to train in the army!? Pakistan with its full Muslim armed force would have easily destroyed India! On the other hand,gandhi stooped so low to the Muslim league pleading to rule India fully by themselves!
