I know the scale of content is gargantuan and it's tough to moderate all of it but maybe the people at twitter should just...do their job
whatever. maybe it'll be effective and i'll be DMing and @-ing Twitter safety employees far less, which would be nice. (btw 5 people died the next day. Only *then* did Twitter suspended Lin a day later)

this new Twitter safety "citizen's arrest" feature is going to be weaponized against marginalized people, and that's a guarantee
this type of moderation should not be done by us. We're too stupid as a people and also: it's not our job. It's really too bad twitter filled up their employee quota, I guess, and can no longer hire new people. This is the only explanation that is making sense to me right now
This new feature will, what, put a small disclaimer by someone's tweet? It is stunning that @Twitter did not learn its lesson after it was clear the disclaimers on Trump's tweets made *no* difference, and it was only after they banned him that misinformation died down (by 73%!)
if you're asking people to "apply" for something that will require them to do a critically important job *your employees* could be doing on their own time and you're NOT mentioning financial compensation? not ok!
Not to mention the emotional distress that comes with being a content moderator. This Facebook mod was getting paid, but it still fucked him up so much he started to sleep with a gun by his side. And if you do the same for Twitter, you won't even get paid! theverge.com/2019/2/25/1822…
I still have thoughts. For the more dangerous misinfo: is Twitter expecting right wing folks to report their fellow right-wingers for misinformation? They think the stuff is true! Is Twitter relying on normies to go into these, quite frankly, rly disturbing RW spaces on twitter?
