McConnell isn’t playing poker, he’s playing chess.
If he can’t keep the filibuster while Democrats control the Senate, he will use it against Democrats to obtain more power when Republicans regain control of the Senate. His goal is always more power that is harder to take away.
“"The important thing for our Democratic friends to remember is you may not be in total control in the future. And any time you start fiddling around with the rules of the Senate you always need to put yourself in the other fellow's shoes” nbcnews.com/politics/congr…
In 2013, Harry Reid eliminated the filibuster for all Presidential nominees, but left it in place for legislation and Supreme Court nominees.
“You’ll regret this and you might regret it even sooner than you might think,” McConnell warned. politico.com/story/2013/11/…
In 2017, McConnell extended the rules change to the Supreme Court nominees to push through Gorsuch and later Amy Coney Barrett. But he also used the Democratic rules change to confirm Trump’s cabinet and judicial nominees, allowing him to stack the courts npr.org/2019/04/03/709…

Racism in police forces aren’t a new problem, so making a real change will require new tactics.
Studies have shown that police who work to build relationships in neighborhoods see better results in lowering crime, but “Encouragement is not a “one-way” process”
