2) Such an obvious plot to me hole now, but only after hearing him say it.
Reminds me of all the hands of poker I’ve butchered where I knew something was off, but missed a key detail that was staring me in the face and messed up a spot terribly because of my narrow focus.

3) We evolved as a species to sense imminent danger in our nervous system before our brains could identify it.

4) At the poker table, the more present and connected we are, the more we’re tapped in to noticing when that first sensation hits.
Often we can go back later and outline all the technical reasons why we felt that way, but in that first moment, it exists only as a feeling.

5) When you’re disconnected, you either miss these signals completely, or go into up in your head to fill the gaps with stories, creating new strategies rooted in fear and projection.

Maybe that's why he plays so much poker now, so he can actually do something about it when he senses that something's off.

7) If you want to improve your poker performance, one presencing skill that will help is learning to recognize the body signals that show up inside when something feels off.
Once you can quickly identify those, you'll naturally be more open and able to see what's missing.
