This punishment trivializes what I believe to be a stunning breach of duty to the Court and to the American people.

foxnews.com/politics/fbi-l…
Lawyers in the chain of prosecution altering documents – to mislead the Court – is one of the most damning things that can be done to the Rule of Law.
They clearly altered documents and withheld exculpatory information from the FISA Court to continue a false narrative against an American citizen: Carter Page.
This sentence will only further erode the American people’s confidence in DOJ and FBI, after they took the law into their own hands.

I completely support the process laid out by Leader McConnell regarding the upcoming impeachment trial. I hope my Democratic colleagues will agree.

The process being proposed is acceptable to the former President’s legal team and fair to the Senate, the House, and the nation.
It will provide the former President’s lawyers and House managers with the appropriate amount of time to brief the Senate and prepare for trial.
As I have continuously stated, I believe this is an unconstitutional exercise of impeachment power, and this process will allow that argument to be made in a timely fashion.

We had a very good briefing today hosted by Governor @henrymcmaster along with input from the South Carolina Hospital Association, S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and others, regarding South Carolina’s vaccine distribution program.
@henrymcmaster Providing assistance to nursing homes, long-term facilities, and other at-risk populations such as those over the age of 70 remains a high priority.
@henrymcmaster More vaccine doses are on the way, and I expect hospitals and other providers will provide the necessary resources to ramp up distribution in the days to come.

President Trump’s statement tonight hit the mark.

He rejected violence, unequivocally condemned those who defiled our Capitol, called for full accountability, and emphasized those who engage in violence tarnish the movement.

His speech helps move the country move forward.
It is now time for President-elect Biden to rise to the occasion and instruct his party to call off post-presidential impeachment proceedings.
The House impeached President Trump without a hearing or witness, and the Senate Democrats would be willing to continue this division and legitimize the House procedures.

Senator McConnell’s decision to withhold consent to start the trial before inauguration is the right call.

Supporting the impeachment of President Trump under these circumstances will do great damage to the institutions of government and could invite further violence at a time the President is calling for calm.
If there was a time for America’s political leaders to bend a knee and ask for God’s counsel and guidance, it is now. The most important thing for leaders to do in times of crisis is to make things better, not worse.
The process being used in the House to impeach President Trump is an affront to any concept of due process and will further divide the country.

Twitter may ban me for this but I willingly accept that fate: Your decision to permanently ban President Trump is a serious mistake.

The Ayatollah can tweet, but Trump can’t. Says a lot about the people who run Twitter.
I’m more determined than ever to strip Section 230 protections from Big Tech (Twitter) that let them be immune from lawsuits.
Big Tech are the only companies in America that virtually have absolute immunity from being sued for their actions, and it’s only because Congress gave them that protection.

President @realDonaldTrump’s statement tonight urging the country to move forward and heal was much-needed and hit the mark. Well done, Mr. President.
President Trump’s acknowledgement that a peaceful transfer of power is fully underway as well as his call for calm and turning down the rhetoric will serve our nation well.
Tonight, President Trump took a major step toward healing our nation and moving forward into a new chapter of American history. The Trump administration, domestically and on the foreign policy front, has much to be proud of.
