1. The concept of Family exists and is espoused on the left, just not in the "white aryan brotherhood" way. Family can include friends and others not related to you by blood, a far more progressive take on the concept that the show mirrors.
2. "History needs to be remembered" is again, a concept on the left that is expanded upon. Whether it be the teaching of inconvenient facts about Native history, black history, and ESPECIALLY queer history (stonewall riots) the left actually scores better on this than the right
3. "Find your strengths and work hard" is literally just a buzzword on the right, and usually means "find some way to fuck someone over without being caught".
And even taken honestly this is not a strictly conservative idea. Its so basic as to be applicable anywhere.
5. Lastly "the government won't save you". Have you ever talked to an anarchist? The abolition of hierarchies is something discussed and supported widely in ancom circles. Its not a strictly right-libertarian viewpoint. The idea is the same, there's just slight differentiation.
I don't understand how you can see leftist movements like Abolish the Police and BLM and think we're in love with the goverment. Do you think antifa loves Joe Biden?
Lastly...I can SEE how someone could interpret the show as conservative. See a lot of FIM's writing has a really milquetoast, liberal centrist slant to it (Sorry Faust!). It is not explicitly leftist OR right-wing. It teaches the most basic lessons...so its open to interpretation
Media properties with subtle, nuanced and centrist values are ripe for being co-opted by fascists. I think part of the reason the brony fandom turned out like this is because its lessons are easy to ignore or misinterpret. You can just turn your brain off and enjoy horse.
There are people who unironically think Equestria is a pony ethnostate that supports "traditional values".
Something as subtle as Celestia actually enjoying the chaos wrought by the Mane 6 at the Grand Galloping Gala easily disproves that. But its not explicit.
And you know what? I actually mourn the loss in subtlety in a lot of modern media. You can't just have grey morality and nuanced viewpoints because some asshole will think it supports their political extremism.
Sometimes you literally have to say "RACISM BAD" in all caps.
I mean I could easily make a video essay on how MLP supports far leftist viewpoints, but it'd be a bit of a reach even for an obsessed horse nerd like me.
The show's main message is just "friends good, don't be a dick."

Just checked /mlp/ and predictably they're flipping out about a bit in the article talking about an expanded focus on "diversity and inclusion".
It seems like an entire segment of bronies will be pissed off at this new movie and series for its themes.
Me personally I think this is fantastic news. I was never a fan of the whole weird in-between reboot/renaming idea where they copy/pasted the M6 into a new world. The soft reboot/timeskip is much more palatable to me, ala The Force Awakens
Gonna politely disagree with this. Do what is most creatively and artistically fulfilling to YOU as a musician. Whether that be tuning your vocals or slaving away to get that perfect natural take. There is no one-size-fits-all rule besides having fun!
Personally I like all the imperfections a natural vocal gives to certain genres. While pitch perfection may be needed in things like melodic metal or whatnot, in things like shoegaze or indie rock or even pop(!) I like hearing all the mistakes
I'm the type of person who kinda gets bored if its "too perfect". And as a producer I like to simply comp together different takes or even just live with an imperfect yet interesting vocal all in one take.
As long as its not jarringly dissonant its fine. And even then...
The great thing about capitalism is that it has this built-in defense system where anything bad that happens under capitalism isn't ACTUALLY capitalism, no matter how many times it keeps happening.
I suspect this absence of logical thinking is purposeful. The flaws in the system cannot even be ACKNOWLEDGED because then people will realize their might be better alternatives.
I'm gonna be talking about the way the right-wing side of the MLP fandom uses cancel culture as a weapon against anyone who attempts to become a better person.
To start, these caps of @TheTazen were released solely because she decided to leave @EtheriumApex's circle of nazis.
For a while, Taze hung around with Etherium, Queen Buggo and other right-wing members of the community in Etherium's private discord server. When she decided to leave and criticize those in it, they decided she had betrayed them.
Right-wing communities like the one Etherium runs generally run on the Mutally Assured Destruction principle: Nobody dares leave or criticize the group because everyone in it has said reprehensible shit.
Etherium himself has repeatedly threatened to tattle on those who leave.
My leftist beliefs are informed by the singular idea that bad things happening is to expected, and fighting for good will always stack the odds against you. You have to be ready for the worst. Organize, uplift, and fight for whats right as if you're the only one left.
There are many people freaking out, and rightfully so. But RBG was pushing 90 and had health problems for a while. This was always a possibility, same as Joe losing is a possibility. You have to act with the worst outcome in mind.
